Fulham Cemetery Friends was founded in January 2024, by local residents who love the cemetery. As of July 2025 we have over 100 members.
Our mission is to secure the protection and improvement of Fulham Cemetery as a place of historic and ecological interest for the public benefit. We aim to improve biodiversity in the cemetery and educate the public about the cemetery’s history and ecology.
The initial impetus for the formation of the Friends was the planting over winter 2023/24 of 36 new trees, after a long period of decline in the cemetery's trees. We want to see the trees survive and thrive, so the group was set up initially to water the new trees regularly over summer.

Please look to the Friends of Margravine Cemetery for ideas of what we could do in future. If there is interest, we could create a non-profit membership association, and membership fees could pay for trees, plants, and equipment for volunteer gardeners.
Trivia: We are not called "Friends of Fulham Cemetery", as that would abbreviate to FFC, which could cause confusion! Hence "Fulham Cemetery Friends", or FCF.
Please sign up using the form, or come to the next meetup, if you have questions or suggestions.

We regularly liaise with the Council's Parks Manager in the cemetery, to ask questions and discuss plans. We also liaise with the Council's caretaking and arboricultural contractors, Idverde and Red Squirrel. We've had several walkabouts with them in the cemetery.
I'm Francois. For the past 20 years I've lived on the Bayonne Estate, about 7 mins' walk north of Fulham Cemetery. I serve on the estate's Tenants & Residents Association (TRA), where I focus on environmental improvements. I love trees, I like gardening, and like to walk in Fulham Cemetery. I currently serve on the FCF committee as Secretary. You can email me at francois@fulhamcemeteryfriends.org.uk.
I'm also a member of Friends of Margravine Cemetery, which inspired me to start something similar for Fulham Cemetery. Formed in 2007, they have over 200 members and have planted over 100 new trees in the cemetery.
