🌳 Tree walk on Saturday 25 July 11am
Fulham Cemetery Friends are adding information labels to graves in the cemetery, with QR codes linking to their biographies on this website, to make it easy for visitors to learn more about them. We have done 18 graves so far and are planning more.

'Tomshi' metal nursery labels, purchased from Amazon.
Commercial identification labels, made from embossed metal, are expensive – depending on the volume, it can easily be £10 per tag. So we have come up with this process, which is much cheaper.
Our labels are printed as A3 posters on weatherproof plastic, and cut to size at home using a guillotine. An A3 sheet costs just £14 from Vistaprint.co.uk (including delivery), so with 18 labels on a poster, they cost less than £1 each. We still need to see how durable they are, but we expect a label to last several years.
We use metal nursery plant labels as the foundation for the printed labels. We buy the 'Tomshi' brand on Amazon, which costs £18 for 30. The printed labels are affixed to the metal using double-sided tape. The metal stands are easily pushed into the ground.
The posters are designed in Google Slides, and downloaded as PDF for use in Vistaprint. We are happy to share the template with other Friends groups.
The QR codes are created using a simple QR code generator which encodes only the URL. Be very careful of commercial QR code sites (such as qrco.de or qr-code-generator.com) as they require a monthly fee to keep the code working.
Bear in mind that if the link changes, you will need to reprint the label as the QR code cannot be changed.
