💧Tree watering has started! Can you help?
Fulham Cemetery has many beautiful trees and supports a rich variety of wildlife. The Friends promote tree planting, biodiversity, and activities that enhance the cemetery's appearance.
Fulham Cemetery is a precious urban forest with a wide variety of beautiful and distinctive trees. Many are at the end of their natural lifespan, so we need to plant more trees.
London's green spaces support a vital network of animal, bird, insect, and plant species. Read more about them and how we can help care for them.

During the summer months (May-September), the council Parks department lets the grass in areas of the cemetery grow long. By doing this they are:
Increasing biodiversity
Providing habitat for insects, such as butterflies, and other wildlife
Reducing CO2 emissions
Promoting sustainable landscaping
Paths are mowed to open up areas for walkers and allow access to graves.

Fulham Cemetery Friends maintain several custom maps to catalogue the cemetery's trees, plan future planting, and log biodiversity features.
The tree map shows all trees we recorded in Fulham Cemetery, with photos, and is regularly updated. You can filter trees by species or other properties, and it works on desktop or mobile devices.
The map also has layers for:
Tree watering status
Paths, buildings, and water points
Section layout
Open the map in a new window ↗️ to show or hide the layers.
The map has layers for:
Bird, bat, & insect boxes
Bulbs

No mow meadows
Fulham Cemetery Friends maintains a database of all new trees planted in the cemetery.
The aim is to add all the cemetery's trees to the database eventually, and add information labels to the trees, to make it easier for the public to find out information about them.
