🌳💧 Tree watering has resumed! Please volunteer if you can
Fulham Cemetery Friends have been awarded a £250 Climate Action Microgrant, for planting native spring bulbs in the cemetery this autumn.
Planting will take place in late September / October and this will be a volunteer-led effort. We can plan this at our next meeting.
We are planning to plant 650 bulbs of the following 4 species:
200 Wood Anemones
150 Snowdrops
150 Bluebells
150 Daffodils
These bulbs will naturalise and increase in number year after year.
Visitors to the cemetery in springtime will enjoy the natural beauty of hundreds of colourful flowers.
Early pollinating insects such as bumblebees will have a big increase in food after the winter.
British native species get a boost, increasing people's appreciation for our natural heritage.
The benefits will increase year after year as the bulbs naturalise and increase.
